Our services include:
- Comprehensive Eye Exams
Learn more about what problems can be spotted with an eye exam, what’s involved in a comprehensive exam, and special considerations for kids and contacts. - Pediatric Eye Exams
Early identification of a child's vision problem is crucial. - Red, Pink or Sore Eyes?
Did you know your optometrist can help you with red eyes, pink eye, or sore eyes? You don't have to go to your primary care physician for help with these issues. - Corneal Mapping
A non-invasive medical imaging technique for mapping the surface curvature of the cornea, the outer structure of the eye. - Cataract Surgery
Cataract surgery removes the natural lens of the eye that has become opaque, and replaces it with a synthetic lens. - Digital Retinal Imaging
Used to detect diseases such as diabetes, glaucoma and macular degeneration, it is critical to confirming the health of the retina, optic nerve and other retinal structures. - Dry Eye Treatment
Dry eyes result from the chronic lack of lubrication and moisture on the surface of the eye, which can cause minor irritations,an inability to wear contact lenses and an increased risk of corneal inflammation and eye infections. - Eye Emergencies
Eye injuries must be treated immediately. Even the seemingly mildest of injuries can lead to catastrophic vision loss. Time is of the most importance, that is why Dr. Abney makes his personal cell phone number available to all his patients. - Glaucoma TestingGlaucoma testing involves measuring internal eye pressure, observing the fluid draining structures in the eye, measuring peripheral vision, and a detailed scan of the retina for signs of disease. Abney Eye Center has the most up-to-date technology available to perform these measurements.
- LASIK Surgery
If you're ready for an alternative to glasses and/or contacts, LASIK may be the right solution for you! - Latisse
Try Latisse™ for longer, thicker lashes. - Low Vision
Low vision is the term used to describe reduced eyesight that cannot be fully corrected with eyeglasses, contact lenses or eye surgery. The primary causes of low vision are eye diseases, but low vision also can be inherited or caused by an eye or brain injury. - Macular Degeneration TreatmentMacular degeneration is an eye disease that affects the portion of the eye responsible for processing fine detail and providing sharp central vision (called the macula).
- Corneal Refractive Therapy
Orthokeratology, or "ortho-k," is the process of reshaping the eye with specially-designed rigid gas permeable contact lenses. The goal of ortho-k is to flatten the front surface of the eye and thereby correct mild to moderate amounts of nearsightedness and astigmatism. Dr. Abney recommends the CRT system to reshape the cornea and correct for nearsightedness. - Sports and Specialty Eyewear Fitting
Sports eyewear can give you the performance edge you're seeking for just about any sport (tennis, racquetball, etc.) or recreational activity (hunting, fishing, etc.). It can also provide the safety and eye protection you need as well. - Visual Field Testing
Measures the quality of your side vision (peripheral vision). It is a quick and easy test to detect any changes in the peripheral vision. This test is used to aid in the diagnosis of glaucoma, neuro-ophthalmic disease, and many other ocular conditions. - OCT
Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) has revolutuionized eye care with the ability to diagnose and manage eye diseases much quicker and less invasively. OCT is comparable to a biopsy of the eye without the use of needles or any physical contact at all.
